Holding Space For You...

It is scary to take the step to reach out for help. My first hope as your therapist is to create a safe space through empathy and acceptance of you as you are. My second hope is that you see how small changes create really big results to ultimately regain control of your life. I would be honored to support and empower you, as you gain new insights.

About

Trauma Focused Care

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), meeting the highest standards of professional counseling through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I’ve also completed a certification in complex trauma, earning the designation of Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA (EMDR-C) and a Certified Linehan-Trained Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT), practicing DBT to fidelity. I offer weekly DBT skills groups and classes to support skill-building in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. In addition, I’ve completed Levels I and II of Clinical Hypnosis training, as well as Level I in Deep Brain Reorienting. My clinical work integrates approaches rooted in grief and loss, self-esteem, attachment, mindfulness, psychoeducation, polyvagal theory, and physical well-being. My focus is grounded in a broad understanding of trauma and its impact on the body, brain, behaviors, emotions, and relationships. I have a deep passion for helping others and a firm belief that my clients are the experts on their own lives. My role is to walk alongside them—to create a safe space, help make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and support their journey toward healing. I hold hope even when it feels distant, and I believe that healing is always possible. My own life experiences, including navigating trauma, depression, and emotional dysregulation, led me to this field. I’m also a mother to an autistic son who has taught me so much about relationships, growth, and humanity. This perspective allows me to offer a soft place to land not only for parents of neurodivergent children but also for autistic and neurodivergent individuals themselves. I bring compassion, understanding, and a commitment to honoring each person’s unique story.
